OKLAHOMA AGRICULTURE LEADERS COMMEND LAMB FOR SALES TAX EXEMPTION STANCE

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – February 9, 2018 – A statewide coalition of Oklahoma agriculture leaders have voiced their support for Republican gubernatorial candidate Todd Lamb’s stance to not eliminate the agriculture sales tax exemption. The Oklahoma Agriculture Advisory Committee was formed last fall, and advises Lamb on agricultural-based economic development issues and opportunities.

“Todd Lamb understands fully that agriculture is a sustainable industry, and it is vital the industry be protected against financially detrimental public policy,” said Tom Fanning, 2017 Oklahoma Cattleman of the Year.

“The detailed plan I have for Oklahoma not only supports agriculture, but focuses on international trade of agriculture to ensure success and longevity of rural Oklahoma,” Lamb said. “Protecting the agriculture sales tax exemption is an important component in my plan.”
Committee member Bill Sims said, “The Oklahoma Agriculture Advisory Committee wholeheartedly supports Todd Lamb, and his committed position to protect the agriculture sales tax exemption. The exemption is literally a lifeline to production agriculture professionals across Oklahoma, and removing it would be extremely detrimental to the agriculture community and the state of Oklahoma.”
